Rugged Coast Rentals Risk Acknowledgement and Disclaimer
*PLEASE NOTE RENTAL ARE FOR THOSE WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE WE WILL NOT PROVIDE EQUIPMENT TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE NOR A REFUND.
SECTION 1
Rugged Coast Rentals
Paddleboarding and kayaking are inherently dangerous activities. Prior experience and knowledge is required for safe paddling.
By completing this form you are acknowledging that you take full responsibility for the safety of yourself and the group. In doing so you confirm that yourself and each member of the party;
- Can confidently swim
- Understand the risk involved in kayaking/paddleboarding. These risks by include death, drowning, hypothermia, slips, trips and falls plus others.
- Understand that there is no rescue service provided
- Understand that there is no supervision provided
- Understand that whilst checks and precautions are taken in provision of equipment it is the users responsibility to ensure the paddleboard/kayak is suitable and safe. And to notify a staff member immediately if damage or leaks are found.
- Has a knowledge of water safety and the effect of wind, tide, cold water temperature and other factors relevant to the location of use
- Understood and confirmed that the hirer will not use the provided equipment if under the influence of drugs and alcohol that might impair their safe use.
- Understood and confirmed that the persons hiring and using the equipment have no pre-existing medical conditions that may be made worse from their use and participation in the provided activities.
- Safety equipment provided namely buoyancy aids (and leash on paddleboards), MUST be worn on all occasions whilst using the hired equipment.
- Will watch safety briefing and notify staff of any questions
- Wetsuits are strongly encouraged due to cold water shock, where no wetsuit is worn the participant understands the increase risk
- Acknowledge that Rugged Coast Glencoe will not be held liable for any loss or damage caused to the participant or their possessions due to booking or participating in our activity.
Equipment Damage Liability - In addition to the safety of the group, by signing this you will also be liable to pay for any damage to any of the boards/kayaks and accessories upto a total value of £850 per item.
Section 2
Supervising under 16s or those without suitable experience
Please complete this section if you supervising minor participants under 16 or you are bringing an inexperienced person in your tandem kayak.
